Second Skin
This exhibition transforms mundane objects and imagery into lasting works of art. From abstracted ceramic replicas of everyday items to intricate textiles, hand-cut paper packaging and embroideries on disposable plastics, these four artists—Pénélope Lenaerts, Ray Thomander, Joanne Wang, and Dana Peters - give new life to the discarded.
By repurposing home goods, fabrics, book sleeves, food boxes, and plastic bags, they create "skins" that serve as a record of our consumption, describing who we are through the tactile remnants we leave behind.
Part of the Ripple Festival, the show observes how small, tactile changes create a wider environmental and cultural resonance. The exhibition is activated by an interactive performance from Almost Romantic, bridging the body’s relationship to these stationary objects.
