Libia Posada: Everything is Going Right @ UCSC IAS
In Everything is Going Right, her first U.S. solo exhibition, Libia Posada uses the language of medicine - disease, treatment, and the body, to explore social, political, and collective conditions. Working across installation, sculpture, needlework, and drawing, often with medical materials, Posada examines systems of care, control, and inequality. Central to the exhibition is Blue Portrait (2026), created with women incarcerated at the California Institute for Women, reflecting on aging and imprisonment in the U.S. prison system. Other works map global and local injustices through gauze, sutured books, and layered borders. Organized as part of Visualizing Abolition, the show invites reflection on the body, society, and possibilities for a future beyond prisons.
